I’ve got locs and have been on a raw, natural kick for a few months now and haven't bought anything premade from hair care stores or elsewhere except maybe pure oil. I've been using aloe verea gel straight from the plant; when I harvest it I always get a liquid gel and a solid gel. The liquid gel twists in very nicely with no residue however the jelly gel often dries up white and flaky. I try to blend it to one consistency but I can never fully break up the gel.

Is there something I can do to stop the flaking?
